Javad K. Hassan is the founder and chairman of JKH Holdings, a global conglomerate comprised of companies in a multitude of technology and service areas, including Internet of Things and Fiber Optic interconnect solutions for smart building infrastructure, Healthcare IT, RF & Microwave, Embedded Solutions, Software Development and Electronic Manufacturing Services. Offering an unparalleled “Concept-to-Product” capability for customization and commercialization, JKH Holdings provides multi-disciplined R&D and TL9000-certified manufacturing expertise to more than 400 customers including numerous Fortune 100 companies. With over 4,000 employees spread across 5 geographic regions, the companies of JKH Holdings have business offices in all major markets globally, supported by Research and Development and Product Fulfillment Centers in India, utilizing nearly 700,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
Mr. Hassan emigrated from his home land of Kerala, India to the United States as an enterprising young man in pursuit of the American dream. Upon completing a BS degree from Columbia University and a Master’s degree in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Bridgeport, he elected to forgo an opportunity to pursue a PhD at MIT, and instead joined IBM. Within a span of ten years, he advanced to the top of the company’s semiconductor development operations, leading an organization of more than 2,000 engineers and scientists. During this period, he acquired more than 20 patents for inventions in semiconductor technology.
After leaving IBM, Mr. Hassan joined AMP Incorporated, another Fortune 100 firm. At AMP he carried out the mission of diversifying the world’s leading interconnection company into fiber optics and wireless technologies, building a business unit that generated more than $1.5 billion of sales annually. In 1998 he retired from AMP as president of the Global Interconnect Systems Business, and began a journey of entrepreneurship on his own terms. Since that time, Mr. Hassan has built JKH Holdings piece by piece, company by company, into what it is today: a global leader across a spectrum of technologies and industries.
With an intrinsic and driven belief that social responsibility goes hand in hand with success, Mr. Hassan established the JKH Charitable Foundation. Through the foundation, it is his privilege to give back to his birthplace, where many talented people need only a helping hand to begin their own journey to success. By sponsoring educational programs in digital literacy and entrepreneurship, Mr. Hassan is empowering others to realize their dreams.
